Civil Engineering is one of the oldest engineering branches of the world, which appeared with the transition of human to permanent settlement. Having become one of the important engineering branches in the light of the advanced technological and scientific developments, civil engineering has been in a constant development and motion through the changing life styles and expectations of the human kind.

Yaşar University Civil Engineering program is scheduled to open to train civil engineers that can project more durable and sensitive structures to environment by using information technologies effectively and ready to compete in construction industry.The aim of this program is to provide adequate knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering subjects pertaining to the civil engineering and ability to use theoretical and applied information in these areas to model and solve complex civil engineering problems.

The Department of Civil Engineering has a program giving place to the information in such fields as structure, hydraulic, transport and geotechnical, which contain the basic information about civil engineering. Its principle is to teach the skill of research, design, planning and practicing as well as the ability to develop creativity. The primary purpose is to train graduates who can produce scientific thought for their society, who improve themselves, who make analyses and syntheses and who are aware of their moral, ethical, legal and professional responsibilities to the society and their profession. Another purpose is to enable our graduates to use their acquired information and knowledge in their professional life after school and to adapt to innovations.
