The overall objective of the graduate programs in the department is to conduct fundamental research in industrial engineering and operations research in accordance with scientific and technological developments, and to provide the students with a strong analytical basis for advanced theoretical work or for development of new approaches to applications.

Industrial Engineering (IE) is the scientific discipline that is concerned with how best to organize people, information, money, and materials to produce and distribute services and products efficiently.

The Department of Industrial Engineering program at Istinye University aims to equip students with knowledge and skills to be able to design, implement and improve integrated and complex systems. The program is one of the few of its kind and thanks to its strong curriculum, vibrant research environment and qualified academic team.

The Department of Industrial Engineering (English) aims to prospective engineers who have acquired international qualifications, think analytically, carry out scientific studies, use the fundamental scientific methods to solve the problems encountered, and have strong analytical skills and an open mind for development.This is a 4-year Programme and the medium of instruction is English. English Preparatory Programme is compulsory. If they pass the Placement and Proficiency Test, admitted students can be exempted from the English Preparatory Programme and proceed to the first year of their Department.
