Industrial Engineering is a branch of engineering that integrates human, information, material, financial and technological resources to produce products and services appropriately. Industrial engineering provides systematic ways to define, evaluate, design, change, control and improve the performance levels of systems in industry, public and society by combining Industrial Engineering skills with mathematics, computer science, management practices.

The industrial engineering curriculum prepares engineers to design, improve, install, and operate the integrated systems of people, materials, and facilities needed by industry, commerce, and society. Industrial engineers solve problems which arise in the management of systems by applying the principles of engineering science, product and process design, work analysis, human factors principles, and operations research. Industrial engineering leads to a wide variety of professional opportunities in manufacturing, service, research and development, and public service enterprises.

The Bachelor’s Degree Program of the Department of Industrial Engineering is a 240 ECTS credits 4-year program composed of eight semesters, each of which has a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS equals to 25.5 hours of student workload per semester. Industrial Engineers analyse human, machine, equipment, and other similar elements in both industry and service sectors. The aim of the Department of Industrial Engineering is to train engineers who can prevent and resolve problems by developing systems, models, and methods to plan, organize, implement and audit in all sectors.

This programme provides students with the core industrial engineering education. Our students are trained as industrial engineers equipped with analytical problem solving skills, experienced in the application of information technology in production processes and the service industry, and knowledgeable in the efficient and effective usage of human, technological and financial resources.
