The Industrial Engineering Department of Yaşar University aims to provide an education for those who will be working at global teaching and research institutions such as universities, R&D departments of organizations, national and international science foundations, etc. We promote interdisciplinary work and education with our flexible curriculum and strong academic staff.

The curriculum of the program is designed to train individuals that will design, organize, improve and manage integrated and complex systems including human, material, capital, energy, information and technology. In addition, the goal is to provide the students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the comprehension, design and implementation of management systems to be used in increasing productivity and efficiency in these systems, and to acquire complex engineering and managerial knowledge in the development of solutions for production, product development and service delivery.

Industrial Engineering is concerned with the design, analysis, and control of production and service operations and systems.The industrial engineering curriculum prepares engineers to design, improve, install, and operate the integrated systems of people, materials, and facilities needed by industry, commerce, and society. Industrial engineers solve problems which arise in the management of systems by applying the principles of engineering science, product and process design, work analysis, human factors principles, and operations research.

In the Industrial Engineering Department of IUE, we are committed to train and educate the human resources with the qualifications required by the above sectors. The objective of the PhD programs in the department is to conduct fundamental research in industrial engineering and operations research in accordance with scientific and technological developments, and to provide the students with a strong analytical basis for advanced theoretical work or for development of new approaches to applications.
