This PhD programme provides graduate students, scientists and clinicians with highly advanced theoretical and practical understanding of human reproductive biology, embryology, infertility and assisted reproductive technology (ART) along with intensive ‘hands-on’ practical training in essential laboratory skills and the sophisticated gamete micromanipulation techniques associated with ART.

The department’s goal is to give its students a better understanding of the world and its history and to foster critical thinking and writing by exploring textual and visual materials. Our lectures are supplemented with field trips, screenings of films and distinguished guest lecturers from Türkiye and abroad. Through a diversified approach to understanding the past, we encourage our students to undertake historical studies in a dynamic and vibrant way

This could be through taking part in interdisciplinary research, contributing to research seminars, or organising conferences. Our staff are here to support you, offering a diverse range of expertise across many periods of history, from c. 800 BCE to the present day, across Africa, South Asia, East Asia, Europe and North America. You can choose to specialise in a range topics, from Medieval Europe to the 1970s US.
