The Electrical and Electronic Engineering PhD brings innovation in science and technology to applications ranging from the generation and use of electrical energy (including renewable energy) to high-speed information processing and pervasive computing. Areas of research strength include biophysics, imaging and optical science, photonic engineering, power electronics, ultrasonics and electromagnetic simulation

The mission of the department is to provide an excellent quality education in electrical and electronics engineering; to ensure that its graduates become engineers with sound work ethics, an awareness of universal values, and entrepreneurial skills, who are capable of developing and applying state of the art knowledge and technologies to satisfy the local and global needs of the society in the contemporary areas of electrical and electronics engineering. Education and research activities in the department cover all major current areas of electrical and electronics and biomedical engineering, particularly focusing on the topics of telecommunications, signal processing and electronic circuits and systems.

In this degree the students will explore the importance of efficient and sustainable solutions for Electrical and Electronic engineering current and future challenges and it will provide the students with ample opportunity for practical application and project work.

Due to its leading role in the development and application of science and technology, Electrical-Electronics Engineering is one of the most rapidly changing and developing areas of engineering. Ranging from electromagnetic field theory to microwave circuit and antenna design, basic electrical circuit analysis methods to large-scale circuit design, digital system design to communication technologies, power electronics to high voltage & power system applications, symbolic logic to artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering to microelectronics, this field of engineering synthesizes well-established theories with emerging ones in great harmony and creativity in an effort to generate solutions and products in sectors as varied as energy, health, space technology and defense.
