Design Strategy and Management Track (Design MBA) aims to provide the management and leadership tools and skills to design professionals. The program offers elective courses such as Design Thinking for Disruptive Innovation, User Experience, Design for Augmented and Virtual Reality and Strategic Systems Modeling. Regardless of the working field, students who are interested in user experience, creative thinking and design-centered approach are welcome to join.

The Design Studies Master’s program that was founded under Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Fine Arts and Design provides architects, interior architects, visual communication designers, graphic designers, industrial designers, fashion designers and applicants from related disciplines a unique research opportunity. With studies informed by this broad approach, ultimately, students will prepare a comprehensive thesis in their chosen field. Students aiming to apply their skills in their respective industries are provided with opportunities to deal with projects in a theoretical framework and write their thesis in this context. Consequently, it is possible for graduates to pursue careers in both design-related professions and academia.

The program aims to develop scientific expertise and capabilities in the field of design studies through the use of creative and critical thinking as well as research skills; innovatively contribute to the discipline by new ideas. It is expected that the Design Studies PhD students will be equipped with the skills of comprehending the interaction across various disciplines related to the field of design, reaching at original conclusions via using new and complex analysis, synthesis and evaluation skills. As novice researchers, every student is expected to be able to conduct an individual research study in the field of design, to be able to analyze the problems from a wider and critical point of view, to be able to synthesize and evaluate the findings.

It is expected that the Design Studies PhD students will be equipped with the skills of comprehending the interaction across various disciplines related to the field of design, reaching at original conclusions via using new and complex analysis, synthesis and evaluation skills.The period of study is 10 semesters for Integrated Phd Programs, while the maximum period of study is 14 semesters.In this Program students apply for PhD with Undergraduate Degree. Integrated PhD is the 5 years dual degree course of master's and PhD.

The Digital Game Design Undergraduate Program established under the Faculty of Communication, with its interdisciplinary approach does not only unite the software, art and design domains, but offers an interdisciplinary working environment across our university and the Faculties of Engineering and Education in particular.
