The Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Engineering consists of formal coursework, passing a qualifying exam (CSE 900), presentation of a dissertation proposal and successful defense of a dissertation. The program requires a minimum of 21 credit hours of formal coursework for students entering the program with a Master of Science degree or a minimum of 42 credit hours of formal coursework for students entering the program with a Bachelor of Science degree.
