If you are passionate about design, then this is the right degree for you. The UMT Bachelor of Graphic Design 2021 offers you exciting opportunities to develop your skills in global context. Throughout the program, you will learn project-based activities and work with students to ‘feel the real industry environment.’ You will be taught to use industry-standard equipment and software tools in studio and graduate with a wide portfolio that demonstrates your knowledge to future employers. As a graphic designer, you will be able to communicate concepts, design solutions, and arguments clearly and concisely through visual, verbal and written means. You will gain functional competence with principles of visual organization to work with 2D and 3D visual elements.

You will build a body of self-directed work informed by contemporary graphic design practice and emerging debates within the field of design. Driven by problem analysis, critical debate and design innovation you will develop briefs, engage with an audience and work collaboratively. Your investigation will explore the relationship between visual and contextual research, investigating the social, political and ethical contexts of your work.

Informed by your particular discipline, you’ll frame your research within the context of current critical debates, examining modern production and dissemination methods used both nationally and internationally. Your research can be practice-led and conducted primarily through design projects. All your subject-specific studies will be enhanced and supported by our University-wide training sessions, where you’ll gain important research expertise in areas like ethics, presentations, intellectual property and digital scholarship.

Graphic Design is the field where all visual products of communication are designed. The need for graphic design in new media and business areas of the developing age is increasing day by day. Graphic designer is the person who designs the visual problems of communication by investigating and questioning. Applied studies in all areas of graphic design are carried out in computer laboratories (PC and MAC), photo studios and laboratories, printing and practice ateliers in our department. Training is provided by expert staff who have proven themselves in the profession at national and international level.
