Given the advancing technology, developments in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, brain computer interface studies, bioinformatics and data mining, increase the need for Computer Engineer experts with theoretical and practical knowledge. The aim of Computer Engineering (English) Non-Thesis to educate learners who have the theoretical and practical knowledge related to the field, have the ability to follow the English resources and developments in the field simultaneously with the rest of the world, are equipped in designing, to develop and ensure the security of information systems, to have advanced problem solving skills and to be focused on the application.

Established in 2007, the undergraduate program of the Department of Computer Engineering aims at educating technically competent and socially conscious engineers who will design and implement information and computing systems mandated by the ever growing and diversified automation needs of the contemporary societies. The department offers a balanced undergraduate program which covers computer software, computer hardware, and computer networks with a strong background on mathematics as well as non-departmental technical/non-technical and compulsory/elective courses.

Our students are trained as knowledgeable computer engineers, experienced in the field of modern information systems, in the design and application of hardware/software for computer controlled devices, the application of both computer science, and engineering in the industry.

Department of Computer Engineering is well aware of the constantly changing technology which in return results in need of a continuously evolving education system and hence supports the academicians and the students about the importance of life-long learning besides the comprehensive engineering education, to update the knowledge by following the state of the art developments. Finally, the department aims to graduate engineers who inherit excellent information and experience on both theory and practice.

The Department of Computer Engineering aims to provide its students with skills to apply engineering design and development principles for constructing hardware and/or software systems of varying complexity, while considering realistic constraints such as cost, manufacturability, safety and environmental concerns as well as usability, aesthetics and simplicity.
