In the BS Program, the study of Psychology provides an understanding of the basic processes of sensation, perception, learning, cognition, development, and personality along with the principles of Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Behavioral Neuroscience. The knowledge of psychological principles and scientific methods for evaluating theories and research in the Social Sciences is essential in our rapidly changing society. The basic goal of the B.S. Program is to integrate the scientific foundation of Psychology with the strong background of Humanities along with basic science to better prepare students for the advanced training in Psychology, Medicine, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, and other related disciplines. The B.S. Degree Program is explicitly aimed at preparing the students for advanced graduate study in the sciences and science-based professions.

The Ph.D. program in the Department of Psychology is designed to build a strong, interdisciplinary background in theory and research in the psychological sciences. The programs focus on cognitive, social, personality, and evolutionary psychology, as well as neuroscience. 

The M.A. program in the Department of Psychology is designed to build a strong, interdisciplinary background in theory and research in the psychological sciences.

Psychology is the study of mind and behaviour. It explores the way in which humans (and sometimes animals) see, learn, remember, and think; as well as the way they behave among others. It also looks at the relationship between mind and brain physiology, and studies how all these faculties develop from conception and birth through to the end of life.

The main purpose of our department is to provide students with contemporary evidence-based theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of psychology. Therefore, our faculty members consist of those who completed their studies in Turkey’s and Europe’s leading universities, specialize in different sub-areas of psychology such as Social, Health, Politic, Clinical Psychology and have national and international publication record in addition to their qualified educational activities. In the following years, our purpose is to recruit faculty members who are specialized in different subareas of psychology.
