The Political Sciences and International Relations Department of the Institute of Social Sciences of the Istanbul Aydın University aims to equipe the students with a profound knowledge and wide ranging views on modern global as well as domestic political and international problems. Students will have the basic knowledge on the sources of different problems on both fields. Additionally, the participants of the program will obtain the required skills for the development and analysis of policies on the core subjects.

This program is designed to give our students strong theoretical foundations in Political Science and International Relations in combination with real world insights provided by our unique Faculty who provide the needed links between theory and the empirical world of “field experience”. The core and elective courses fall under four main subjects: international relations, comparative politics, political theory and Turkish politics. The curriculum is interdisciplinary in nature and incorporates fields such as history, law, philosophy, economics, sociology, geography and anthropology.

Political Science and International Relations PhD Program aims at providing the PhD candidates with a comprehensive scientific capability enabling them to theoretically, analytically and critically assess the political and social transformations that take place in the global system. The program offers the PhD candidates the main courses of Current Issues in International Relations, Comparative Politics, Political Theory and Research Methods as well as a wide variety of elective courses from different areas. The PhD program is designed to provide the students with the necessary theoretical and conceptual knowledge and capability in the first two academic semesters and later to enable the successful Phd candidates to write and to defend their dissertations in diverse fields of the program and under the supervision of expert faculty staff.
