Pharmaceutical Toxicology from Yeditepe aims to provide the students with a comprehensive understanding of the effects of forensic toxicology, adverse drug interactions, acute toxicity and antidote treatments, advanced analytical methods used in toxicology, research methods, food toxicology, genetic polymorphism, genotoxicity, environmental toxicology.

The objective of the Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Toxicology is to impart advanced scientific knowledge in pharmacology and toxicology, to provide training opportunities in conducting state-of-the-art approaches in basic research in pharmacology and toxicology, and closely related subdisciplines, in order to prepare the students for careers in independent research or related careers in academia, industry or government.

The course is aimed at personnel concerned with the safe use of medicines, particularly in developed countries, including those working (or intending to work) in: the pharmaceutical industry who are involved in drug development, licensing, and surveillance; regulatory bodies who are involved in licensing and surveillance; the health service who are involved in drug policy; and health policy decision-making agencies with research at the end of the degree.

The PhD in Pharmacognosy program is now a Concentration (Pharmacognosy) within the PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences Program. Major research areas concern the isolation, structure elucidation, bioassay and mechanism of action of plant constituents having biological activity. Studies in biomolecular interactions and structural biology are also pursued. Individual faculty profiles should be consulted for their specific areas of research interest.
