Today, modern mechatronics engineering discipline covers the main topics of mechanics, thermo-fluid systems and energy, control, materials and manufacturing, as well as computer-aided design, modeling and analysis of systems. It is also necessary to see mechanical engineers as the professionals responsible for designing and performing their functions defined as tasks in a way that is efficient, safe, economical and respectful of the environment and ethical values.

The aim of this degree is that the students will learn about robotics, mechatronics, and autonomous system technology and how to incorporate an electronics nervous system into other engineering systems and devices with ample opportunity for practical application and project work.

Mechatronics refers to a flexible, multi-technological approach for integration of mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electronics and information sciences. Mechatronics is essential in the design of intelligent products. It allows engineers to transform their virtual concepts into real life applications. It is a relatively new concept relating to the design of systems, devices and products aimed at achieving an optimal balance between basic mechanical structure and its overall control. The programme involves research and coursework that will push the frontiers of technology in intelligent product design and development.
