In this program, management and information technologies are taught in an interdisciplinary manner. The development and effective use of information systems to gain a competitive edge in the business world is a primary aim of the MIS program. To serve this purpose, computer science concepts (programming, web design, database management, etc.) and management concepts (economy, marketing, accounting, finance, etc.) are taught as core courses. Advanced courses, which serve to integrate these two fields, help students to grasp such systems as development, management information systems, e-business, and decision-making processes.

Information Systems is an interdisciplinary field of both in science and in social science that incorporates the concepts of information, management, and computer. The aim of this program is to provide students with sufficient knowledge about the structure and management of analytical thinking and organization, as well as having mastered the most up-to-date information systems and technologies that managers will use to optimize their decision-making processes.

In today’s world in which there is an intensive competition, one of the most effective competition tools is to install information and communication technologies and to include these technologies in the process of making a decision and doing business. Besides the planning and applying of the information systems, there is another point of importance, which is the effective management of these systems. This is because information and communication technologies are constantly renewed and updated and this requires following these developments and adding them to the existing ones. Information technology-based systems which exist in all fields and circles of life affect a lot of elements and points, too. Among them are trade, marketing, management and sales of goods and services. The purpose of the Program of Management Information Systems is to train individuals who can develop the information systems at businesses and who have the knowledge and experience of information and business to manage a business.

The main purpose of our department is to train students who have management skills in producing, sharing and storing information that will improve information systems in businesses, preparing information systems that will cover all functions of the business, and managing these systems, who can adapt to today's information technologies and can adapt to new technologies, and to bring our graduates to the sector.

Information and communication technologies connect individuals and institutions to each other and touches every aspect of life. The Management Information Systems Undergraduate Program was established to train operators to work in the field of information and communication technologies. The program provides both theoretical and practical training in business management and computer science. Students will be equipped with analytical, technical, managerial, communicative and professional knowledge and skills they need as business informatics experts and system analysts.
