Increasing globalization of the international trade and the efforts to join the common market have led to an increase in the logistic services provided to the companies and in the land-air-sea transportation. It’s inevitable for the companies engaged in this field to raise standards and qualities of their services. Logistics is efficient planning, implementation and supervision of services and products and every kind of information flow related to these, from the initial point of the raw material to the last point that the product is consumed, to meet the needs of customers. There is a need for qualified medium and high level staff to provide all these qualifications. Aim of this Department is to provide manpower for the sector of logistics and transportation, and also for the management of logistics in producer companies and business organizations.

This department aims to prepare students for business life by enabling them to develop optimal analytical thinking and problem solving skills, applicable for employment both in national and international companies. The goal of logistics is to deliver the right product, at the right time, to the right place, in the right quantity, and for the right cost, in an excellent and flawless condition.

The aim of this program is to provide the students a broad knowledge about issues such as accounting, finance, business, economics, management-organization, marketing and marketing strategy, market strategy and product design, production planning, material management, inventory management, storage and material handling, distribution, warehouse and warehouse management, transportation, customs clearance and insurance services, purchasing, customer service and technical support.

İzmir University of Economics, with its Logistics Undergraduate Program, aims to raise experts with global vision that dominate all functions of logistics.The graduates of the department will supply the need for well qualified workforce equipped with necessary knowledge and background in the companies in logistics sector. We believe that the students graduated from the Department of Logistics Management will contribute to logistics sector that is still developing in our country. The courses in the program include basic business administration, management and economics fields together with quantitative and verbal courses needed for logistics management.
